Application forms and submission procedure

A brief summary of the entire process described above is given below:

  • Online form filling
  • Uploading scanned photocopies
  • Fee payment
  • Printout of confirmation page

Step-1: Applications for UPTU (now being called UPSEE, or Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) are accepted online through their official webpage. The process starts with a form which requires the applicant’s personal (email ID, mobile number, parent’s name, address, etc.) and academic information, as well as a selection of three convenient test centers in preferential order.

Step-2: After filling everything out, a password needs to be created which, along with the candidate’s username, will be used as login details throughout the online application. After submitting the form, the system automatically creates an application number that needs to be noted down and kept safely for further reference.

Step-3: The next step is to upload scanned copies of-

  • The latest passport-sized photograph,
  • The applicant’s left-hand thumb impression, and
  • Signature

Step-4: After the scanned documents have been successfully uploaded and saved, the exam fee payment needs to be paid at last. Male candidates belonging to the general/OBC category need to pay Rs. 1200, while the cost for female candidates and applicant’s from the SC/ST category is reduced to Rs. 600.

The only mode of fee payment is online transfer either through credit/debit card or net banking. No refund policy is available after the payment has been made, so the candidate is requested to be fully aware at all times during the application process.

Following the successful deposition of the exam fee, a confirmation page that acknowledges the student’s completion of the online process will appear on the screen. It is recommended that the candidate take a printout of this page and keep the document in possession along with the application number provided earlier until the completion of admissions.

Admit Card

The admit card can be downloaded from the UPSEE website after logging in using the appropriate credentials (application number and password) one or two weeks prior to the test.

The admit card contains essential data that includes the candidate’s personal information as well as details on the test center (allotted based on the candidate’s preference and availability of the venue). The examination centers are distributed amongst 41 locations within Uttar Pradesh itself and 8 cities outside the state.

Admission Procedure

The entire counseling round is an online process and starts from the third week of June 2018.

Those who succeed in clearing UPSEE will be called for the counseling round, which all shortlisted candidates must go through without fail. To begin with, online registrations and fee payment have to be completed before proceeding further. A break-down of the counseling fee is as follows:

Category Fee
General/OBC Rs. 20,000
SC/ST Rs. 12,000

The amount can only be paid online (credit/debit card, net banking). After confirmation of the transaction, the required scanned documents need to be uploaded for the purpose of verification. Given below is a list of the desired soft copies:

  • UPTU Admit Card and Score Card (downloadable from the website).
  • 10th marks card and associated pass certificate
  • 12th marks card and associated pass certificate
  • Diploma/Graduation/Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Category certificate (for OBC/SC/ST candidates)

If successful, an OTP (One Time Password) will be generated in order to allow the candidate to move on to select at least three AKTU-affiliated colleges (priority-wise) that he/she would like to join. Whether the student procures a seat in any of the choices depends on merit and availability.

After the announcement of the seat-allotment results, the candidate can choose to go forth and seek admissions into the respective university or redo the process of short-listing of institutes for a better chance of acceptance into another preferred college.
