What is UPCPMT?
The Utter Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (UP CPMT) is an Entrance Test for selection of candidates for admission into Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery(BUMS) courses in various Government and approved Colleges of Utter Pradesh. The UPCPMT is conducted by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya University, Awadh on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
Structure of UPCPMT exam
As the UP CPMT is a medical entrance test, it will cover questions from the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany.

UPCPMT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate must be an Indian National to be eligible for the examination.
- A candidate must have completed a minimum of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of the admission i.e. if the candidate is applying for UP CPMT 2018, they must be 17 years old by December 31st, 2018.
- A candidate must also be a resident (domicile) of Uttar Pradesh.
- A candidate who has passed high school and intermediate from Uttar Pradesh education board but is not living in the state at present will also be able to apply for this examination.
- A candidate who has passed their 11th and 12th standard for a school/college in Utter Pradesh are also eligible to apply.
- A candidate must also qualify their 12th examination or equivalent examination with their subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology as well as English.
- For a candidate to be eligible for the examination, they must have scored at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their qualifying examination in the case of General or OBC Category. A candidate from the SC/ST category will have to score a minimum of 40% marks.
- If a candidate is a first year of the three year degree course from a recognized university, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-Technology as their subjects and if they have provided the examination in a University Exam and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course they will also be eligible to apply.
- The same criteria also apply to a student that has pursued their B.Sc in a recognized university. Students from the 10 + 2 + 3 system will have to undergo a special one-year pre-medical training program before getting admission.
Application forms and submission procedure
The application process for the UP CPMT is an online process. Candidates registering for the examination must visit the official website and click on “Apply Online”. No offline application forms will be given to candidates in the post or in person.
There are three main parts to the application process: Online Registration for UP CPMT, Payment of Fee, and Filling up the application for UPCPMT.
Online Registration
- A candidate will have to initiate the process by registering themselves on the official website. After carefully reading all the given instructions, one will have to confirm the same by checking an “I have read all detail” box.
- After doing so. The candidate will have to enter their personal information such as their Name, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, Email Id, Father & Mother’s Name, etc. It is important to assure information such as Email ID and Mobile Number are correct as they will be used for further correspondence. Changes are not allowed to be done as these are linked to the user ID and password of the candidate’s account. Candidates who have given a wrong mobile number or e‐mail ID may remain in touch with CPMT website to get the latest information issued by the CPMT as they might not be getting information through SMS or e‐mail.
- After that is done, an application number and a password will be sent to the Email ID and Mobile Number.
Payment of Application Fee
After obtaining the Application Number and Password, a candidate can log into his/her account using these credentials. The next step of this process will be the fee payment.
- Fee payment can be done in both an online and offline mode. All General and OBC category candidate will have to pay a fee of 1400 rupees and those candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category will have to pay a fee of 700 rupees.
- A candidate will have to fill in the Registration Number and Date of Birth to receive the payment process screen. Then one can pay using online payment via net banking/ Credit Card/ Debit card or through an E‐Challan at the branches of State Bank of India.
Filling up the application form
After successfully making the payment, you will be able to proceed with the rest of the application.
The following details will have to be filled out:
- Personal Details: A candidate will have to enter details such as Father’s Name, Mother’s Name and their Gender, Nationality, their Residential Details.
- Educational Qualification: A candidate will also have to enter details regarding their 10th standard and 12th standard education. This information will include the board they have passed out from, the name of their school, their marks in each of these examinations and so on. All details will have to be filled out as per the certificates they have received.
- Corresponding Address: A candidate will have to furnish their correspondence address, phone number, and Email ID.
- Exam City Preference: A candidate can give up to three preferences from the cities they would like to report to for their examination. The centers will be allotted on a first-come-first-serve A candidate will not be able to change their center under any circumstance.
Upload Documents
After filling out all the above details, a candidate will have to upload things such as their photograph, signature and their thumb impression. The photograph will have to be in JPG form and the size of the image must be less than 50 KB. The signature will also be in JPG format and its size must be less than 20 KB. Finally, the right-hand thumb impression must also be scanned and in JPG format and its size must be less than 20 KB.
After filling out and reviewing the application form, the candidate can submit the form. The filled out application form can be printed out and it can be kept for further reference.
Admit Card
The Admit Card for UP CPMT is usually given out during the month of May. In the year of 2016, the admit cards were given out during the period of 11th May to 16th May.Candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website. They will need to enter the Application Number and the Date of Birth in order to download it.
The Admit Card will have details such as the Name of the Candidate, the Candidate’s Application Number, Exam Centre, Exam Time, etc.
Admission Procedure
The counseling will be conducted by the DGMEUP.
The result of UP CPMT will be uploaded to the official website as per schedule. It is usually released during the first week of June. The result will be in rank format. Ranks will be given out based on the total number of marks obtained by the candidate in this entrance examination. Candidates will be able to see their marks and rank post the declaration of result.
After the announcement, a merit will be released based on which the counseling procedure will take place.
Notification
The notification for UPSCMT (Uttar Pradesh Common Pre-Medical Test) 2018 for admission into programs like BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda medicine and surgery), BUMS(Bachelor of Unani medicine and surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of homeopathic medicine and surgery) will be announced on the official site of the test which will be tentatively announced by February 2018.
Syllabus
The syllabus of UPSCPMT comprises of 3 subjects. The subjects are namely physics, chemistry, and biology. The syllabus is generally based on the intermediate level of scientific study which comprises of topics from 11th and 12th standard science subject.

- The syllabus of biology is further divided into two segments which are botany and Zoology; these both are further divided into 2 sections each.

UPCPMT Results
UPCPMT 2018 result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test. Based on the result, merit list will be prepared of the eligible candidates. Candidates can check their results/merit list online on the official website of the test in the first week of June 2018 (tentative).
Candidates can download their results online by entering their phone number and unique password.
Also, students can get notified about the result by SMS or email by registering or subscribing their number or email.
Cut-Off
The cutoff percentage of UP CPMT exam is evaluated on some factors which are the number of candidates appearing for the test, number of candidates qualifying the test, difficulty level of question paper, number of vacancy for admission, performance of the candidates in the entrance test, last year’s cutoff percentage, category of candidates and more.
In 2015 approximately 1 lakh 21 thousand 9 hundred students applied for UPCPMT examination. Ronak Jain of Agra stood as a topper in the 2015 examination.

Score Validity
Scores/ Rank of UPCPMT is valid for an academic year for which the candidate has given the entrance test. It cannot be used next year or as any other entrance test score.

UPCPMT 2018 Counselling Schedule
Once the result is declared online, the candidates have to register themselves by paying a fee for the counselling session.
The counselling session is done on the basis of the merit rank secured by the student in the entrance test.
During the counselling, session candidates have the freedom to select their choice of course.
The counselling session is maximum 3 rounds which consist of verification of documents, Group discussion and personal interview with the candidate.
