What is TS PGECET?
Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance (TS PGECET) is a state level common entrance conducted by Osmania University on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) for students to gain admissions into the post graduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy and graduate level Pharm – D.
Structure of TS PGECET exam
TS PGECET is a computer based test which is conducted once for each stream on different dates every year. The detailed schedule of the PGECET exam will be provided in the official website. The following link gives the exam schedule for last year to give an insight on the test schedule.
The test is conducted for a total duration of 2 hours. It has 120 questions with multiple answers to choose from. This pattern is the same irrespective of any stream the students take up the exam for. But the syllabus of the questions asked in the exam will be different for every stream offered.
One mark is assigned for every correct answer. There is no negative marking. The students can score a maximum of 120 marks in the exam.

TS PGECET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
The candidate must be an Indian national. They must belong to Andhra Pradesh or Telangana state and must satisfy the local/non-local status requirements.
Academic Qualification
- The candidates should have completed a B.Tech or B.Pharm degree or an equivalent in their UG with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognized university or college. This is applicable to general category candidates. The reserved category candidates should have at least 45% in their undergraduate degree.
- Candidates appearing for their final year exams in UG are also eligible to apply to this exam on the condition they will obtain the minimum required aggregate at the time of admission.
- GATE qualified candidates can also apply for this exam.
Age limit
There is no age limit to apply to this exam. All candidates who have completed graduation can apply to this exam.
Application forms and submission procedure
The application forms will usually be available in the month of March and go on till May. The student must apply online through the official website only.
STEP-1: The candidates must visit the official website and click on the ‘apply online’ tab. Then the registration page opens where the candidates are required to enter the following details
- Name
- Date of birth
- Mobile number
- Email id
- Hall ticket number (10th or 12th)
- Year of Passing
- Father’s/Mother’s name
- Number of test
- Community
- Aadhaar number
STEP-2: Once the candidates fill in these details, they must click on ‘submit’ after which they will be redirected to the payment gateway. The application fee is 800 INR for general category candidates and 400 INR for reserved category candidates. The candidate can choose an option to pay, enter the required details and then must click on ‘make payment’ button.
Last year, the last date to pay the application fee without any late fee was 01.05.2017. The application fee is non-refundable.
STEP-3: Once the transaction is successfully complete, they will receive a registration id and password in their email and registered mobile number which they must note down for all future correspondence.
STEP-4: Then, the candidates can visit the official website again and enter the required credentials (Login id and password) and proceed to fill the application form. It is mandatory for the candidates to upload scanned copies of their photograph and signature which must be less than 30kb.
The candidates can apply for more than one stream of TS PGECET.
STEP-5: Once the candidates complete their application and submit it, they will receive an immediate acknowledgement of successful completion as an sms in their registered mobile number. Therefore, it is mandatory for the candidates to provide an active mobile number.

Admit Card
The admit cards will usually be issued in the month of May. Candidates can access their admit cards from the official website by entering their registration number and date of birth.
Then, they must select the test to which they have applied for and click ‘submit’. Thereafter, the candidates will be able to view and save their admit cards.
Candidates should download a copy of the admit card and save a soft copy for future references. It is mandatory for the candidates to carry a hard copy of the admit card and a valid photo id proof to the exam hall otherwise they will not be permitted to take up the TS PGECET exam.
The candidates must ensure all the details on the admit card is valid. The details on the admit card will be:
- Name
- Photo
- Category
- Father’s name
- Roll number
- Exam center details
- Date and time of the test.
Admission Procedure
STEP-1: Candidates will be called for document verification as per their ranks in the TS PGECET exam. The candidates must carry original and photocopies of all required documents and the processing fee when called for document verification.
The processing fee is 1000 INR for general category candidates and 500 INR for reserved category candidates. Once the candidates pay the fee they can get their documents verified.
The candidates should not forget to collect their receipts once document verification is done. They must ensure data on the receipt is correct as seat allotment is based on this data.
STEP-2: Then, they must provide an active mobile number in which they will receive an OTP for web option entry through their phones. Through this option, the candidates can select the list of colleges of their choice. Then, they must save their options and click on the ‘confirm’ button.
The counselling happens in two phases and the candidates can change their options in phase two if they have missed out in phase one. The candidates will be allotted seats based on the availability.
Notification
Notification regarding the exam will be released in the 2nd week of March 2018. Students can check the notifications from the official site. The mode of application for the exam is online.

TS PGECET Results
The results for TSPGCET will be announced on 12th June 2018. Candidates can check their results from the official site of the exam. The following steps should be followed in order to check the results for TSPGECET 2018:
- Candidates need to go to the official site of TSPGECET 2018.
- Locate the result section on the home page
- There, click on the TS PG ECET Results Button.
- After clicking on that, the candidate will be redirected to a new page
- The new page will contain the fields the candidate needs to fill in order to access the result and these include the unique registration number of the candidate, date of birth etc.
- After filling in the details, the candidate will be able to access his/her result
The candidate must download the score card for future use.
Cut-Off
TSPGECET 2018 Cut Off is released college-wise for all the categories. Cut off marks are different for each year. To be eligible for admission, first of all students have to qualify the entrance by fulfilling the cut off criteria.
In Order to qualify the TSPGECET exam, students need to score a minimum percentage of 25 which means aspirants have to get at least 30 questions right out of 120 questions. This criterion is only applicable to general students.
It is important to remember that there is no such minimum marks criterion applicable for SC/ST candidates. This is the criteria for qualifying the examination. Cut off marks for admission will be released later for various courses offered through TSPGECET.
Score Validity
The score for TSPGCET is valid for one year. Therefore, the score for TSPGECET 2018 is valid only for the year 2018. The scores will not be carried forward.

TS PGECET 2018 Counselling Schedule
Counselling will start from August 2018 and it will be done in two phases. It will be done online. It will be organized in different rounds depending upon seat vacancy. Candidates would have to pay a counselling fee of INR 800 ( INR 400 for SC/STs). The following documents need to be verified for the counselling process:
- TSPGECET 2018 Rank Card
- TSPGECET 2018 Admit card
- If a candidate belongs from the state of Telengana , that person has to carry a residence proof that his/her mother or father has resided in Telengana for more than 10 years
- Results of 10th and 12th boards and all score cards of college till graduation
- Identity proof in the form of Aadhaar card
- In case the students is not from the state of Telengana , s/he needs to carry M.R.O
- Transfer Certificate Issues from the last institution the candidate has passed out from
- Proof of income and only those will be acceptable which have been issued after 1st January 2017
- Candidates belonging from the minority section need to carry required status certificate
- Memo of SSC or its equivalent certificate
- Residence Certificate for preceding 7 years of the qualifying examination for candidates who have completed their graduation through private study without any institutionalized education
- Integrated community certificate issued by the competent authority in case of BC/SC/ST candidates.
