What is KIITEE?

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KIITEE) is a computer-based Entrance Test conducted by KIIT University. The exam acts as a gateway for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of engineering, management, law, design, fashion, etc, offered by the university.

The KIITEE 2018 application forms were released on 20th November 2018 and ended on 31st March 2018.  There was no application fee for the exam.

KIITEE Exam for different courses is conducted on different days  KIITEE 2018 was conducted from 15th April – 24th April, 2018.

Structure of KIITEE exam

KIITEE Entrance test is a computer based test with each questions consisting of four responses with each incorrect answer attracting 1 negative mark. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes (3 hours). The paper is divided into following sections:

Instructions-

  • Once the candidate completed all questions of one section, he/she will be redirected to the next section. Though, the candidate is free to move between sections.
  • The test window will automatically close after 180 minutes. If the candidate, has finished the exam before 180 minutes, he/she can use the remaining time to review or submit the exam and leave.
  • NO BREAKS will be provided in between the exam
  • A blank sheet will be provided for rough work
  • Except the admit card and Pen/pencil, candidate will not be allowed to carry any other material or device including Mobile Phones, Pencil Box, written material etc.

KIITEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

It is very important to satisfy the KITEE 2018 Eligibility Criterion before taking the exam. If the requirements are not met during counselling, the admission of the candidate stands cancelled.

Below mentioned are the eligibility criteria of the top courses offered by the university-

·          Should have scored at least 60% aggregate in Physics, chemistry and mathematics in class 12th.

·         Candidate appearing for class 12th exam can also apply

·         Born on or before 1st July, 1997

MBA 2 years ·         Graduate with at least 50% from a recognized university

·         Cleared CAT/MAT/ /CMAT/GMAT/MAT

OR

Cleared KIITEE MGT

·         GD and PI

MBBS/BDS 5 years NEET score
PhD N/A M.Tech/ME/MBA/MCA degree with at least 60%

OR

M.Sc/MA/M.Com/LLM degree with at least 55%

OR

B.Tech/B.E degree with at least 60% along with a valid GATE score

Application forms and submission procedure

One could download the Application form and prospectus which is available online or one can register online on http://www.kiitee.ac.in or http://www.kiit.ac.in .

Online Application Procedure

Candidates opting for online registration must follow certain instructions:

  1. Open the KIIT website and select online application or else application form can be downloaded.
  2. Follow the instruction to fill up the form and submit.
  3. Take the print out of the application form mentioning registration number.
  4. Paste the photograph in the space provided and signature by both candidates and parent/guardian.
  5. Dispatch the form along with two passport size photographs with 10thmark sheet/pass certificate.

Offline Application Procedure

In case candidates have downloaded the application form:

  1. Fill the form carefully attach photography space provided and signature of candidate.
  2. And also 10thpass certificate/Mark sheet.
  3. Candidates must submit in person/by post the downloaded online application form to the below mentioned address before the last date of submission of application.

Information related to receipt of application form will be available on the website candidates can check their application status after 20 days of its dispatch.

The candidates are required to keep a photocopy of the ‘printed application form’ with them for future references.

Admission Procedure

The candidates are shortlisted according to the KIITEE Entrance test result. Counselling and allotment of seats are only on the basis of the test result. Counselling schedule will be published in the website after the result is declared candidate must attend the counselling as per the schedule.  The counseling for KIITEE 2018 began from 20th May 2018.

Counselling will be stopped after all the seats for KIITEE 2018 are filled up. At the time of Counselling, candidates must bring their original documents for verification along with token fees.

Notification

The notification for the KIITEE 2018 was released in November 2017. The date of the exam date was 15th April 2018 to 24th April 2018.

Syllabus

The questions paper for B.tech would contain 120 questions in all with an equal weight age given to each section such as:

  1. Physics – 40

  4. And for Biotechnology question paper would contain 180 questions divided as

It would be a 3 hour long paper i.e. 180 minutes to be exact with negative marking for wrong answer 1 mark and a correct answer to be awarded with 4 marks. It would be an objective type question paper. The syllabus is as follows:

NOTE- B.Tech aspirants are required to study for the physics, chemistry and mathematics syllabus while the biotechnology aspirants are required to study physics, chemistry, and biology which includes zoology and botany syllabus.

KIITEE Result

The KIITEE result was declared on 26th April, 2018. Below mentioned are the steps to check the result-

Steps to check the result-

  • Log on to the official website of the exam and click on the “Result” link.
  • Once clicked, the login page will appear.
  • Enter your login credentials i.e application number and date of birth.
  • Click “submit” and your result score along with your KIITEE exam rank will appear.
  • Download the score card for future reference and counseling process

What if the score of 2 candidates is the same?

  • If the score of 2 candidates in KIITEE 2018 exam is the same, the marks in the math section will be considered. The candidate with the higher mark will be preferred over the other.
  • If the tie still persists, the physics score will be considered

Post the above process, if the tie persists, the age factor will be taken into consideration. Older candidate will be given an advantage over younger.

Reservation/Seat Distribution

Seats are distributed among different categories of students and a separate merit list is prepared.

NOTE- The seat reservation for women candidate is only available for B.tech/B.tech-M.tech (Dual Degree) Biotechnology. If the seats reserved for female candidates are not fulfilled, they will be allotted to the general candidates.

The KIITEE 2018 cut-off will be released after 26th April. It is released separately for different courses. Following factors are considered while determining the cut-off-

  • of candidates appearing for the exam
  • Seat availability and Annual Intake
  • Candidates highest and lowest score
  • Previous year cutoff

KIITEE 2018 Counselling Schedule

KIITEE 2018 Counselling took place once the results were announced. It began from 20th May, 2018. Candidates are requested to download their counselling letters from the official website by entering the roll no, name and date of birth. A schedule is put up for document verification and candidate must be present according to the schedule given for the verification.

Documents required for counselling

Below is the list of documents which are required for verification:

  1. Class 10 mark sheet
  2. Class 12 mark sheet
  3. Class 12/HSC certificate
  4. tech or equivalent degree certificate
  5. Relevant certificate issued by the competent authority, clearly indicating the reservation criteria claimed by the candidate.
  6. School/College leaving certificate
  7. Conduct certificate
  8. Admit card
  9. Rank card
  10. Demand Draft of Rs. 62,000 including 6,000 for counselling registration fees in favour of KIIT, Payable at Bhubaneswar.

After the documents are verified, candidates can move on to fill their preferences and they are allowed to fill in as many choices as they want to. After the choices are filled, seats are allotted according to the preference and according to the rank the particular candidate has secured.
