Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College, Kolkata, formerly known as Birla College of Science and Education, was established in 1969 with the merging of Birla College of Science and Birla College of Education. In 1987 it was renamed as Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College, by the name of great scientist, Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose.The college isaffiliated to Calcutta University and accredited by NAAC.The college is also listed for grants under the University Grants Commission, Govt. of India.
