Bagnan College is a non-government Grant in-aid College affiliated to the University of Calcutta (C.U). It was established in July 1958 and recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) right from the beginning. The college campus is situated at Khalore villege, under Bagnan police station, in the Howrah district bordering the East Midnapure district (earlier Midnapure district). Bagnan College was founded by late Badal Chandra Maji with the aim of catering educational interest of public at large in this part of Howrah district.

Mission & Vision:

Our main intention and objective of is to create honest, diligent and hard-working citizens who would give priority to their country and nation over their personal benefits. Our aim is not only to make them conscious of the cultural heritage and tradition of our nation but also to make them aware of their surroundings and about their possible contributions to society. We would like them to become agents of social change and makers of a better future.

Affiliation:

College has been affiliated for the first time from the session 1958-59 by Calcutta University which is effective from the session 1960-61 with aids, assistance and grants from the Govt. of West Bengal and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Accreditation:

The NAAC accreditation of B to the institution in 2005 has further strengthened the attempts towards academic excellence.
